GENERAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
This ASB degree program is designed for students to develop advanced-level office, communications, and microcomputer skills and to develop principles of accounting skills. Graduates are encouraged to sit for the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Registered Bookkeeper examination. Graduates of this program meet the job-skill requirements for a position such as Para Professional, Bookkeeper, Payroll Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, Billing Clerk, Financial Accounting Secretary, or ADP Secretary.
ADVANCED-LEVEL REQUIREMENTS
For Computerized Accounting Management students who excel in the regular five-academic-term program, one additional academic term of advanced-level subjects is available. This sixth academic term (which becomes the final academic term) includes 13 additional academic credits of advanced accounting subjects, the Job Search Preparation Class, and the four-week Internship. To qualify for this additional advanced-level academic term, a CAM student must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA in all accounting subjects and a minimum 3.0 GPA in all other subjects during his/her first three academic terms and continue to maintain these qualifying requirements through his/her fifth academic term. Also, a student must receive a recommendation from an accounting instructor to continue with the advanced training. Advanced-level graduates are encouraged to sit for the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) examination and/or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) CPA Assistant examination. Graduates may qualify for such positions as a CPA Assistant, Business Accountant, Income Tax Preparer, Auditor Assistant, Accounts Receivable Coordinator, Accounts Payable Coordinator, Payroll Specialist, or Junior Accountant. All graduates receive recognition of this accomplishment on their official academic transcript. |
